    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • As Graphic Design was not initially connected with my university degree, most of my internship was dedicated to learn new skills as well as practicing existing ones. I was given new and challenging tasks from project to project. This internship was a great professional experience.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Obviously the strongest bonds were created with fellow interns, but the office employees were always nice towards interns, approachable and available if you need help. They were trying to maintain a nice environment in the office.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Most of the tasks were explained in details, that really were helpful. In case if the task was not clear, it was not a problem to ask to repeat it. My manager has always been very aware of of what i am doing, giving a thorough monitoring.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most of the days were quite busy, with certain deadlines and targets. Some days I felt more relaxed, as less work was available on that particular day.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Obviously all of the work was checked by the supervisor in order to avoid mistakes, but I was given certain freedom and responsibilities.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As it was not completely connected with my degree, these skills will definitely will be useful to stand out of the crowd while looking for a job in the future. Graphic Design is always a beneficial skill in Digital Marketing.

    5/5

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Our part of the office was always cool, relaxed and rather quiet, which is a good thing.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company is interested in investing in interns, and is always looking for new talents. They provide free lunch and travel to help to cope with extremely expensive life in London.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It is possible to get a full-time job after. The hard work is noticed, and people are placed in the most suitable roles for them to benefit everyone.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Occasionally we had complimentary wine and pizza nights, which was a nice reward after a long week. I also managed to become good friends with some fellow interns, so we were occasionally having a drink or two in town.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is super expensive, and you need to have some money to afford to do an unpaid internship.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Never was able to experience it, as I had to leave in a cheaper area of London, even if it required an hour of commute to the office.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 3/5
