The Role
I have enjoyed my time during the internship. Some things could've been better, but the experience was good overall.
I feel like I was very valued by my colleagues, but some of that value did come from being appointed too much responsibility.
To begin with I was given good support, however that was gone after a few weeks as the supervisor has left the job and I was left to learn on my own.
At the start there wasn't much to do at all, but after being in the internship for over a month, a lot of work started flooding in and at times it was very busy. Personally I don't mind it as it's better than being bored, however it wasn't balanced due to the supervisor/lead developer leaving the company.
Although I do like being given a lot of responsibility, I felt like it was way too much for an intern.
I feel like this was mostly a self learning process in terms of actual web development skill, but I did learn a lot about how a company and it's different parts function and interact with eachother.
The Company
The office atmosphere was great and everyone seemed to be enjoying their time here. People were happy, making jokes and it was a relaxed environment.
The future employment prospects are great.
The Culture
We have been talking and socialising with the other interns during lunch and sometimes after work so it was great.
