    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Not exciting but that's work. It was a very good first job to have.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Team are all close and you collaborate a lot with colleagues from around the world.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support was always available.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Towards the end I was on the busy side. The amount of work you have is what you make it.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Lead a project for upgrading scanners used in factories across 9 sites from old to new model.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The experience of being in the work environment and seeing different situations is more valuable than technical skills you learn.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Quite a serious environment.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • First person in this particular team so they didn't know what they were doing completely but this soon didn't matter and I was just as capable as people replacing current placement students.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Everyone made effort to train me and guide me throughout the placement, not to mention giving me a level of responsibility.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • More to do with the location, it is quite far out for me.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Renting was quite expensive but so long as you don't waste too much money socialising at least every weekend should be a breeze.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not the best night out you could have.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Campus events and promoting Nestle as an employer yes but activities/sport clubs after work were unheard of.

    2/5
