  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Working in mechanical development, I had a broad range of work from running engine tests to working with suppliers.

  • In my department I felt as if the students and I were doing valuable work and were depended on to deliver.

  • Managers and senior engineer were always easy to approach and would always answer your questions and explain them.

  • Workload was very varied and always had to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines on time.

  • Given good amount of responsibility and lead my own projects and engine tests but always required approval or supervision.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've only used minimal amounts of what I've learnt so far from my degree. I've mostly learnt how the company processes work etc but some will be taken forward.

  • Very laid back and plenty of cake!

  • Initially put into the deep end but soon found my feet!

  • Given a lot of training but only for the specific job role. Not sent away for any courses or anything.

  • Chance to get a bursary for the placement students and come back after their degree.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Overally about 32 placement students on site for the year so really good to make new friends and socialise!

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Daventry is pretty cheap! Not as cheap as up north though!

  • The Square...you'll find out.

  • Yeah plenty of opportunities either with the company or to set up with the other students.
