The Role
I really enjoyed ny week at Walker Morris and was made to feel part of the team from the start.
I was given relevant tasks and included in all conversations.
Although my supervisor was very busy she did make time for me and the younger trainees in the department were always keen to help and guide me.
I never went too long before another task or job I could help with was passed my way.
A fair amount of responsibility which seemed to increase as I demonstrated my understanding.
Invaluable, my experience gave me a real insight into my chosen career and helped me form opinions on certain areas of the legal profession
The Company
Although it was obviously very hectic and there was a lot happening, I was made to feel relaxed enough to be myself.
Very well, we were given a structured timetable from day one and assigned a supervisor and trainee 'buddy' to help us throughout the week.
As previously mentioned we took part in two workshops run by external organisations in a bid to improve our general skills.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing, this would be a great firm to work for with the possibility of great career advancement.
The Culture
We were taken out by the current trainees and took part in a pool tournament where food and drink was provided. The other vacation students were very easy to get on with.
I had to stay in a hotel which cost around £250 although the firm did give us an allowance. In terms of socialising, Leeds was no different to any other city.
Great, there was always something to do.
We had one night in the week planned for us but apart from that we could do as we pleased.
