The Role
PMing was not what I wanted to do long-term but was certainly enjoyable for the 3-month duration of my internship.
Felt very welcome and accepted by most in the office.
I was given constant help and advice by others on my team, mostly by others on my team who were very approachable.
It very much depended on the period. There were times that I had too much to do, times when I had too little and other times when the workload was just right.
As an intern I was one of those responsible for managing individual client projects amongst other things. However, I would have liked to manage something bigger, i.e. a corporate contract.
It was indispensable knowledge regarding the day-to-day running of an agency and how it all works, the ins and outs etc. It has also been crucial in allowing me to start my freelance career from the work I've continued to receive from Language Connect. It was also good to get tips on how to do and format translation from in-house staff.
The Company
The atmosphere was quite sedate but then again the staff are all very busy and often have so much to do that this is almost expected. On saying this, it didn't stop you having a chat with those around you.
There didn't seem to be any organisational problems.
I wouldn't say the company highly invested in me in this respect but I was included in the in-house training that was going on when I was there - the XTM training.
Financial Bonus
Healthcare/Dental
I work with the company regularly as a freelance translator.
The Culture
I formed great relationships with colleagues and other interns.
Quite expensive for a student.
Some nice pubs in the area.
No.
