About You
It was a really interesting and exciting opportunity that taught me a lot of new skills.
All the solicitors were really friendly and down to earth and my mentor was really friendly and approachable throughout the whole week.
There was a lot of time to ask questions and my mentor was there all the way through in case I needed help.
I now have a greater idea into how people operate in the work place as well as a good idea of what a career in law has to offer.
The Company
There was a clear layout as to what I would be doing and which department I needed to go to.
Really interesting and all the people involved treated it as a fun experience rather than a formal assessment
Walker Morris were really keen on providing the best care and assistance and provided good quality facilities so I could carry out the placement in the best way possible.
I could envisage myself in the position of working for the company as I got to see all the departments on a tour of the office and got to speak with the people there.
I really got a good insight into how the company operates and functions on a day to day basis on all different employment levels.
There was a great deal of information provided to the interns so they understood what a career at Walker Morris would entail.
Everything Else
it was a paid work experience placemnt
All the interns were given mentors and so we could network with different peoples mentors and this gave us a chance to meet and connect with different people.
As it was only a week we werent really expecting social or networking opportunities but if it had been longer, I wouldn't have been surprised if we were invited to an evening meal out with one of the mentors
I had a chance to ask the solicitors about what they did in their spare time and this gave me the opportunity to find out more about their lives
It was a good experience so yes, i would definitely recommend it for other people interested in going into law.
