    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It has been a great experience from beginning to end. I would highly recommend recend graduates as well as people still studying to undertake an internship here. It gave me an excellent idea of how working for such a big organisation is like.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • All of my team made me feel part of the family from beginning to end. I was reminded of the value of my work and this made me feel extremely valued and worthy.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I received 100% support from my line manager who regularly met with me for individual 1 to 1. During these meetings I had the chance to ask for professional development opportunities and got ongoing feedback on my work. The head of the time and my colleagues were also always helpful and 100% available to give me advice and guidance.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had just enough work to keep me busy and stimulated without risking compromising my study time.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was in charge of a project to be used in the future by my team as well as employees and volunteers. The level of responsibility was ideal for someone at the beginning of their career as it did not put too much pressure on me and gave me time to learn by others.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The experience gain will be extremely useful for my career as the internship has been in the sector I wish to work in. Also the supervision I received was ideal in terms of offering guidance and at the same time giving me responsabilities which will come useful in my future jobs.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The organisation was perfect. I was told my responsibilities since the beginning, this gave me a clear idea of what my role involved. I also received ongoing support and the opportunity to meet other people within the organisation. The workshops and training were also communicated to me from the beginning and with that their usefulness for my personal professional development.

    5/5

  • The office was about 15 minutes away from one of the best locations to go out in the evening.

  • I had the great opportunity to visit an office outside of London which gave me an insight into a different area of the one I was working in. Aside from that I went out for non work-related activities with colleagues on a couple of occasions.
