    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed it very much, made so much better by the social aspect and our great team. The job also was good.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • 4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Was always willing to help when asked. Lot's of information available if you asked. You get out what you put in.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very good balance, especially for finance which is prone to busy month ends and quieter mid month periods, but had a good constant flow of work which always meant I was busy.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • All tasks have responsiblity otherwise they wouldn't be worth doing, however there is of course a limit to how much responsibility you can get as a placement student. Compared to how much responsiblity I expected to get I am happy with the amount I got.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It did not relate to my degree (Economics) but I didn't expect it to. I have developed skills as you do throughout your life. Obviously it has been very valuable but so is anything you do.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Loved the atmosphere in the office. Rarely quiet unless very few people in, I enjoy being in a workplace with plenty going on with many people on the phone etc. Also I had a great team.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I don't think the firm invested too much as me as a placment student but I know as a finance placement student, but I know they do as a finance grad in funding professional qualifactions.

    1/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Financial Bonus

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Through the recommendation of your line manager & the placement programme superviser you can get fast tracked to the interview stage. However I do not know what the placement superviser judges you on and what factors they take into account as I only saw them 4 times I think. Because I do not know how it is judged I cannot judge myself.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very good. Great bunch.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Quite like Reading, god a few bits going on. The placement itself was in Bracknell which has very little nightlife.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I think there was but I don't know.

    3/5
