    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the placement scheme a great deal. It was not just a typical job. I got the opportunity to travel to different offices, get involved in many opportunities such as charity work and projects. One thing I would say is you never get bored and there is always something to do.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At Fujitsu the people are very friendly and approachable. It is the type of environment where you can physically get up and speak to people regarding whatever you are working on which feels great as you always feel like you are being listened too. Everyone here wants to help the IP's and makes them feel valued.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • At the beginning you are instructed to do a number of training videos under minimal supervision. You have regular meetings with managements so you always know your targets and what is expected of you. They support you and acquire to you're personal needs. One negative would be sometimes you can miss your own personal meetings if management are busy.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It is a very fast paced environment and you are expected to learn things fast. You will find that quickly you will become involved in lots of different task/projects. This is good however as you learn different aspects of the business and the weeks go extremely fast. I would suggest throwing yourself at any opportunity you get.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You are given a lot of responsibility from day one. You have access to highly sensitive information and hold a lot of responsibility when working on it. You quickly become aware of different processes and even do the same tasks as people working there for over 10 years so you do get a lot of responsibility which is a great feeling.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have developed while on placement are invaluable. I believe it has made me a harder working individual with better timekeeping and organizational skills which will only improve my work in my final year of university. It has given me a years worth of experience of working in a corporate company and the understating of how things work is a great to have.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere felt good. It was not a noisy office however you are able to speak to everyone around you without disturbing anyone. It was family environment and on occasions people would bring in treats for everyone to enjoy including cakes and pizzas. Also, you are allowed to wear your own clothes on Friday's.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3/5

  • Working from home

    1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are lots of opportunities to progress your career at Fujistu and generally jobs are advertised within the company. If a role was to come available at Fujistu after I have completed y final year at University I would definitely apply for a role back at Fujitsu. Progress steps are also available to view for the company.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes. We had a number of events where by all the Industrial placement students would meet and gerenraky this would include a meal with everyone. They are great social events and you get to know all the other people and what their roll entails. This is a really fun part of the scheme.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living was a lot cheaper than most places as you have a lot of budget supermarkets close by such as Aldi/Lidl. In terms of housing again the prices of houses are cheap in the area and many are well below the national average for a house in the UK.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There is not much nightlife close by however in neighbouring towns you will find many bars, pubs and restaurants as you would in any. It is great if you can drive as they are all very accessible by car and wont take much time at all to find when travelling by car.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 3/5
