    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Absolutely loved it, will be a shame to leave.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I couldn't of asked to work with a better team for the year :)

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a line manager during my year who also became a really good friend to me. We had monthly meetings to discuss my progress or any worries I may have but i was also supported by the rest of the PR team if I had any worries or questions.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • You're always busy in the PR department but it was always a manageable amount and my team made sure my work load was balanced and gave me tips on how to prioritise when it did become too much.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My responsibilities grew as my confidence grew which was a great system. I've been given so much responsibility throughout the year and I've felt like such a key team member.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've learnt so much of my placement year, probably more than i did at uni and I know this year will really benefit me when it comes to applying for jobs after graduation. I also was lucky enough to get additional training on excel and presentation skills.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I loved my team. We always had a laugh at the appropriate times and there was always a treat jar which was good :)

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Really good. The student in HR does a lot of it and it works well.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The team were always asking me what additional training I wanted and made sure I got everything out of this year I wanted.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • A lot of people who work in the office today used to be on the placement scheme a few years ago which was really nice to see. One of the PR managers also was a placement student once.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was 17 of us this year and we all got on as one big group and no dramas which was great, we became a bit of a family unit. I was Social Rep and arranged bar crawls with other placement companies in the area which were a lot of fun.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Personally I found it okay, it was roughly the same as rent at uni. The cost to travel to work was a bit more than usual but then again I was earning more than i got when i was at uni so it was fine.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Reading's an okay night out, I prefer other towns but nightlife is what you make it and who you're with.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Because there were so many students there was always a birthday or an occassional to celebrate or someone available at the weekend to chill with.

    4/5
