The Role
The placement was well-rounded and I was given the opportunity to become involved in various aspects of the business.
Everyone at the organisation was extremely welcoming and I established strong connections with many colleagues.
Everyone within my team was always willing to help and offer their knowledge and expertise to ensure I was learning and developing my skills.
Everyday was different and there was always interesting new projects to start.
I was given plenty of individual tasks and acted as the support for numerous projects.
I learnt a great deal during my placement year and adopted truly invaluable skills that I will be able to apply to a future career and my current University studies.
The Company
Atmosphere was always friendly and I never felt afraid to ask questions or share my own thoughts during discussions.
As I was the first student to undertake this placement, part of the organisation was handed to me to suggest my own personal areas of interest.
I participated in the company induction programme and business awareness programme which was extremely enlightening and useful when going about my day-to-day job. I was also encouraged to enrol within online courses to further my personal and professional skills.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
N/A as the scheme was just for 12 months.
The Culture
At my particular site, there was only myself and one other placement student. However, as I mentioned earlier on, everyone was extremely wecoming and always up for a night out!
Around average although more expensive than University prices!
Nightlife was decent but could be a bit of a difference for those who are used to larger cities.
Company activities were always advertised round the site well in advance and people were always on hand to provide further information if requested.
