    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a great experience that gave valuable exposure into working for such a large corporation and in the financial services sector. You meet so many great people and have so much fun.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was only working on a client project team for 2 weeks but in that time felt very included and valued. When I was not working on client site it was much harder to feel grounded.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everyone was very supportive and took time to explain anything that I wasn't sure about

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It varied on a day to day basis. Some days I had loads of client work to do and stayed late, other days I was not tasked with much so had more time.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • This also varied depending on the work that was required. Some days I was working on very important client work whilst others I was doing small things around the office.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Within the main EY building it is very sociable due to the open offices and with everyone being in such close proximity. Working on client site was still great fun within the team but it was much more intense.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I believed going into the internship that there would be a clearer structure to the work us interns were delegated. Although they placed us in different teams it sometimes felt as if people did not know what work to give us so ended up giving us little tasks to complete.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • During the internship you are treated like a graduate and so are given the opporunities that they would have as full-time employees of the company. The fact that we were allowed to have client interaction was a fantastic insight into a critical part of EY's work

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • 4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The Summer internship team were great at organing loads of events to bring us interns together over the course of the internship. There was also a social team in our intern intake that organised weekly events.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Working in London- what more needs to be said!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were opportunities to do CSR days and join societies but our internship was too short to get properly involved

    3/5
