  • The location (Paris), the job role, the working enviroment and the experience gained were invaluable

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Excellent relationship with everyone in the team, also, open space layout encouraged socialisations with other departments.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • It has been an eventful year and the structure has changed management-wise, but this encouraged me to use my own initiative.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Often very busy but in a good way

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Increasingly high level of responsability, very rewarding, I was responsible for a few projects and I was trusted to manage a number of important activities, such as budget monitoring and press coverage.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Everything (the good, the less good, the location, the language) has helped to get "skills for life" on both a professional and personal level.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very good balance between work and jokes.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Due to changes in management and to the fact that I was based abroad there have occasionally been some minor organisational issues, but nothing major.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel like my collegues in France have invested 100% in my development, but not in terms of "traditional" training, eg. I never attended Excel training etc. But my team invested in my development in a daily basis.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    National Travel

    International Travel

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It will depend on the choices I'll make i the future, but I have been told I'd be welcome to come back and work in France.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • For a few months I was the only placement student (in Paris). On the contrary, Panasonic UK had quite a high number of placement students.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Paris is quite expensive...

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Great nightlife!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • That's up to the individual I guess... There is always LOTS to do in a city like Paris, but it's not something linked to the job, it's up to the person wether to make the most of such an amazing location or not..
