The Role
One of the most enjoyable vac schemes which offers a true reflection of working life in the firm.
Really friendly trainees who genuinely value your considered opinions. Intellectual discussions with partners on the legal technicalities of certain issues.
The nature of the training here is that the onus is on you to get work. Thus, it is up to you to clarify with your supervisor what they want, but this actually works really well because it ensures that you know what is expected of you and if you have any questions (sensisble!) they are always willing to answer them.
Most days very busy, but in a good way. If you find yourself without work you can simply walk the floors to find someone else with some work for you.
As much responsibility as is possible to give Vac scheme students. Really good balance.
Some invaluable feedback on drafting and on general approach to tasks.
The Company
Great balance. Poker night and Independence Day BBQ; good measures of work and play.
Very well. ood range of seminars and talks, negotiation workshop and presentations.
Everyone is so willing to take time out to explain the work that they do.
Financial Bonus
Very appealing. I don't have a job with Jones Day yet but I very much hope I will.
The Culture
Yes, social drinks on friday evenings and lunch together.
Standard central London prices.
Didn't really have time to experience proper nightlife here!
Yes; sports and pro bono.
