    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Varies day to day, could be working on data manipulation tasks, could be updating certifications, could be in meetings for most of the day so not have time to do much work independently. Due to the nature of the work, there will always be new certifications and policies introduced, making the work very consistent. Talk to people through teams when working from home, and a lot of face to face when in the office.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • A little bit, however this came from projects I found for myself. The work is quite complex and delicate, so it is understandable that a placement student wasn't left to their own devises when navigating through the workload. However, I was given responsibility for the work I produced, improving my attention to detail.

  • It is a great atmosphere and culture at Cummins. Everyone is very friendly and responsive. Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement 75% of the time. This is in part due to the time I joined the team I was in, but also due to the placement being slightly different to what had been advertised online. So the other 25% can be accounted for by other factors that, on the most part, were out of anyone's control
