  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Planning and carrying out engine tests to ensure emissions compliance to regulations. Analyzing the performance of engines on a macro scale and proposing changes to fix any performance issues. Current product support, assist production testing when needed

  • I have developed great skills in communication especially with those who are in a different country. Cummins is a global organization and I am required to work with people from all different places. Also my technical problem solving ability has increased. I feel i have learned better steps to tackle an issue I am presented with.

  • Yes, I felt that I was treated the same as any other engineer was, and was given a comparable amount of responsibility

  • Had weekly meetings with my direct manager to discuss work and any issues i was having. Everybody either in the office and internationally was very happy to help and gave me the knowledge to continue forward with

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The general atmosphere and culture was good and comfortable to work in. Being a mainly diesel based company going through big changes technologically some peoples attitudes were less optimistic but i feel this is natural in most businesses

  • Engage in as much training and learning as possible. Ask to be involved in any project where you feel you would gain good experience in. Take initiative, after settling in and you find your feet try to find an answer before asking a question, I think this shoes a good drive that will be noticed
