    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Supporting current product issues using the 7 step problem solving process. This includes liaising with stakeholders and field specialists. Outlining clear steps to discover the assignable cause of the issue, and developing a solution to fix it. This may include a scene of the crime visit. Clearly documenting and presenting the 7 steps to be reviewed in a cross functional setting for approval.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • From the start of my placement i felt very welcome and respected in the team. I was started off with some easy tasks to help me learn the process and once i was more familiar i was given meaningful work and given equal opportunities to an employee who may have been here 10 years.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • My team members were very supportive during my placement My manager held weekly 1:1 sessions with me where I could discuss work or just a general catch up. The first month of my placement I had a 'Buddy' who was able to help train me

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. The company often holds free events such as world happiness day where we got free cake to a summer BBQ. There are no strict hours so you can come and go as you please provided you do your hours for the week.

  • I very much enjoyed my placement at Cummins. I feel very lucky to have a team who have backed and supported me the whole time and provided me with lots of opportunities to develop my skills.
