    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The day to day work mostly involves working on client specific cases that is raised based on the software that we specialise in. Typically we consult client on changes to be made, requirements needed on their end/our end and expectations. We also help make configuration changes for the software that has been tailored based on their business needs.

  • In terms of new technical skills, we were provided with a formal training for the software that we would have expertise in. The biggest soft skill I have gained is definitely getting comfortable in challenging situations when consulting clients whether it would be discussing their needs or raising expectations of clients.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Support and guidance was great. We were given a one month induction period with the previous year’s interns, which provided a seamless transition. Additionally, all interns had an assigned mentor for the year, which made skill development and guidance great. Moreover, the other colleagues were very approachable and supportive in terms of my learning and getting better day by day.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Definitely a good choice for me to explore the tech space and think about career choices going forward. The work itself does get a bit repetitive but the small challenges that come with it provides a motor to work throughout the year. Additionally the other benefits and moving to another city and meeting a lot of new people was great.
