    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, I lead a design project for a new installation in the pilot plant. I was able to research, design, install and commission the unit

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • A fair amount. At the start it was slightly lacking, but this was due to a restructure of the company and having remote management, and the team remaining in Banbury were very welcoming and helpful as far as possible. After the first few months, the restructure was complete and the support was excellent, including weekly calls, project updates and manager meetings

  • Excellent atmosphere. lots of office and wider events to ensure everyone is involved.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed the placement. It was the perfect placement for a chemical engineering student with an interest in food and production engineering. I learned valuable skills for the industry and got to be involved with unique experiences including running the pilot plant, tastings and travel

  • My exact role is not currently being continued, but the experience i gained from the company was excellent. Be prepared to learn everything about coffee, get involved with as much as possible, jump in from the very start and be open and accepting of advice from others
