Overview
Sourcing external data from outsource partners, sending parcels, running and reporting informal DoDs, assisting with labelling and general organisation, sampling during PERC runs in the pilot plant.
Skills
Developing my microsoft office capabilities and communication internally and externally. Learnt how to safely sample from various outlets in coffee liquor production. Learning how different coffees lie in different areas of the flavour space and how certain areas are preferred in certain countries (dependant on bean selection)
Responsibilities
I would prefer more discussion on the direction of my project, I feel I don't know enough about relevant contacts/what is expected of me.
Support & Guidance
Everyone is really friendly and is willing to provide support but I don't know enough to know specific questions to ask for help - more background knowledge would be useful.
Culture
Really friendly and bubbly, eager to bond outside of work and get to know each other on a personal level.
Your Impressions
I would prefer to be more hands on in labs rather than data processing as it relates more to what I am studying as part of my degree. I cannot fault the atmosphere though, very comforting and relaxed to encourage productivity
Yes
Be very thorough with research on the company before applying/interviews. It is more likely to show initiative and will help you if you do get the job to be aware of the wider company.
