    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a lot of support and guidance from managers and colleagues at JDE. It is a genuinely very friendly environment where everyone is willing to help. But equally they allow you the opportunity to figure things out for yourself and be independent where you want to be.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very good company culture. People are genuinely very nice and want to help. I quickly made many friends and a lot of good professional relationships. This is very encouraged in the office with it being quite social and relaxed. Only problem would be the location of the office making it hard for people to come in all the time. However, working from home from my experience my team have frequent calls - both work related but also catch ups to check how you are doing.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Jacobs Douwe Egberts
  • Understand what you are applying for and ask questions at the interview/assessment centre. Also, recommend having a car for this job - it is not required as you can get the mini bus from Maidenhead but it is so much more convenient because of the office location and for trips to Banbury. Try not to live too far that you can go to the office plenty (I lived with others I worked with).
