    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Managing and maintaining backlog reports. Updating the revenue forecasts and actuals for Premium Engagement and PS Consulting. Alongside this I approached consultants to understand reasons for undistributed backlog of sales orders. Responsible for updating Internal Order information and resolving any queries. Creation and preparation of a Utilisation report.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt all about the sales forecasting process, the route in which potential deals go through the pipeline. Throughout my placement year I attended every linearity forecasting call and learnt from the sales management team in how they plan to reach their forecasting targets. My excel skills have improved dramatically over the course of the placement year, having to self teach myself using sap courses in order to produce high quality work.

  • I was given the appropriate amount of responsibility. I were given deadlines to push myself to work to my fullest. However never too much that could cause me to become overwhelmed.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Plenty of support throughout my year. I had a monthly sap talk development call with my global manager to present what work I have done and what I had learnt, and what I am interested to learn about in the future of my placement. My buddy was in the office every single day, therefore always having someone to guide me especially at the beginning of my placement, starting to learn my role.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • My team were often in the office which gave the team the opportunity to chat outside of the work we do together. However, we didn’t have any team events or team calls throughout the year.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I thorough enjoyed my placement year, working in a great team, working on interesting projects and having to opportunity to learn as much as I was capable of. Having offices in both feltham and the scalpel office in central london gave great networking opportunities with sap employees outside of my department.
