    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Supporting account managers on their day-to-day activities. Speaking and meeting with customers to help with their individual or corporate banking. Filing, scanning and administration tasks in order to manage those accounts.

  • Learnt being part of a flat business structure within a city-center bank branch. Learnt accounting and financial skills as well as many soft skills. Developed existing skills to use in final year at University.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • As much responsibility as I desired. A very comfortable experience and led by the motto 'learn by doing'. Shadow work in the beginning and then more responsibility as the weeks went by.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Great support. Given by people of every job role within the branch. Everyone was very considerate and explained each task in detail. Daily meetings allowed you to be kept aware of the agenda and everyone always willing to help. FAST Team and Learning Development team offer support from outside of the branch also.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Thoroughly enjoyed the 8 week summer internship at Handelsbanken. I had high expectations and after week 1 it had already exceeded them. A great team, great bank and great job.
