    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Mainly ad hoc initiatives, can vary each week depending on projects on at the time. Pulling sales and tracking reports each week to give management an overview of the pipeline. Weekly meetings with AE's and other members of team to support with putting content together for deal proposals.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Skill development has been limited to the nature of the virtual environment and the lack of in person training and workshops due to covid. Written communication skills improved as well as project management skills. However, it would have been nice if more virtual workshops were provided throughout the process rather than just at the start of the year.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • There were occasions for opportunity of responsibility, however this was inconsistent throughout the year. Within sales there tends to be a culture of making promises but not following up on this. Starting initiatives can be difficult due to the number of approvals needed.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • A lot of support offered in the first few weeks but this soon dropped off. There was inconsistent cadence throughout the year, planning and guidance sessions seemed to lack personalisation. More regular follow ups throughout the year would have been useful due to the remote working environment.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?
  • 3/5

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • With an organisation of over 100,000 people the culture and atmosphere varied a lot depending on teams throughout the market units. There was inconsistency within the culture of teams, some people embodied the culture and others not so much.

  • Overall, it was a somewhat an enjoyable experience. However, I do believe the experience would be different in person as there would be more consistent responsibilities within teams.
