Overview

Skills
Inter-personal skills, Commercial Awareness, Teamwork, Practical IT skills, Self-confidence, Time management, Many industry specific skills.
Responsibilities
Very quickly after starting the placement I felt trusted by my manager and the team to take on responsibility. After the first few months I did not feel the need to check in as much with my manager and instead I felt I had autonomy when making decisions. I would say there was quite a steep learning curve but that has resulted in me having gained so many valuable experiences on my placement.
Support & Guidance
I had an incredibly supportive manager and team, who were always happy to give a helping hand when needed. I had many developmental conversations during my internship with both my manager and other members of the team, I feel incredibly lucky to have had such a supportive experience.
Culture
The Banbury site has a very hands on atmosphere, you can get as involved as you like with the process of actually contributing to the production of coffee. In the open plan office in Banbury there is a very friendly atmosphere where everyone is very approachable. There is also a real willingness from everyone to get to know the interns when they join.
Your Impressions
I feel very fortunate to have had this placement opportunity at JDE. I have really enjoyed the variety of things I have worked on during my time here, the skills I have had a chance to develop, the responsibility I have been trusted with and the amazing team I have had the opportunity to learn from. It sounds very cheesy but I couldn't have asked for a better placement experience, a better team or a better company culture. This placement has really helped me develop both personally and professionally.
Yes
