Winter Vacation Scheme Review

I enjoyed the insight as I felt included in the work of the practice area, and I feel that I have come away having learned may different new thing, and have a good platform upon which to further my knowledge.

I felt very valued, as I was trusted to get involved with tasks from live work. Also, my trainee buddy seemed to really want to engage me and further enhance my knowledge and understanding of Banking Law.

I was very supported by my trainee buddies, and felt able to ask questions when I didn't fully understand or if there was a word I didn't know the meaning of, and they were able to talk me through the tasks, and always offered their assistance.

The skills I developed and information I received, will provide me with a good foundation to do further independent research and effectively prepare for my GDL.

I feel it was well structured with a good balance between doing practice area work, socialising with trainees and gaining their insight, and also the assessments that took place.

It was a really positive working atmosphere, all members of staff were friendly and happy to help, and also have to have you help them with tasks.

I think the firm was invested in our development of skills and learning, although due to the length of the scheme, I don't think the firm was able to invest in us as much as they maybe would have liked to.

I think I saw a very realistic picture of what it would be like working with the firm, as it is a busy time within the firm, so we got to see the extent of the workload and also be involved in contributing to reducing that workload.

I was able to talk to and interact with various members within the firm from partners, to trainees, to associates and receptionists. This cemented that at every level of the firm, people work hard, but their are laid-back, friendly and personable.

I've gained a full holistic view of what it would be like to work as a lawyer, form the work, to the hours, to how staff interact with one another and It has cemented that would like a career as a lawyer, particularly at this firm.

There were several networking opportunities provided by the firm. We had a special lunch nearly every day with trainees and partners form various departments. Also from being in the offices, I was introduced to many people by my trainee buddy.

The networking/socials were good, we went to a cool venue for our social and the trainees were very friendly and chatty. Everyone had a good time overall.

Yes, I found out about the firms netball team, and the charity fundraising they do.
