About You
I found the experience hugely insightful and very enjoyable overall. It was a fantastic opportunity to get to know the firm, its employees, and its culture. It also afforded me a great opportunity to learn more about individual practice areas.
I felt extremely valued and well-looked after from start ti finish. This can be attributed to the friendly nature of the firm and its employees.
I received a good amount of guidance and support but often found myself helping a very busy team and so had to learn quickly and think on my feet.
I am extremely pleased with the skills and knowledge I have picked up from the scheme and am now incredibly excited to begin the GDL in September.
The Company
We were given a very comprehensive and accommodating time table that allowed for a good variety of learning and experience. I particularly enjoyed the morning presentations from a representative of each department.
The atmosphere was very collegiate and friendly throughout the two weeks. I was lucky enough to attend a number of social events whilst on the scheme and meet a number of current Trainees, Associates and Partners.
I didn't feel that I received a huge amount in terms of actual training but I definitely feel that my personal development benefited from the scheme.
I feel that my experience at the firm could not have been a more authentic and accurate portrayal of what life as a Trainee would be like.
The authentic experience certainly gave me an accurate insight into understanding the fast-paced and high intensity culture of the firm, and how all the team pull together to deliver work.
The content was extremely valuable to me as it confirmed my decision to undertake a law conversion and heightened my desire to work at an international city law firm.
Everything Else
All of the Summer Vacation Schemers were paid for both weeks of work.
Yes - there were endless opportunities to meet people currently working at the firm both inside and outside of working hours.
The networking and social events were very enjoyable and a good opportunity to explore the surrounding bars and restaurants in the area.
During my scheme I heard of post-work football matches, and pro-bono and charity work - however I didn't have the opportunity to partake in any.
Yes I would thoroughly recommend this Summer Vacation Scheme to a friend or colleague looking to gain an experience at a great firm.
