    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time with bank during my internship, as it provided me with everything and more of what I expected/wished to get out of my internship. It exceeded my expectations of how much of a great insight of how the bank and the company as a whole operates, whilst also being very exciting and enjoyable throughout.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel very valued by all my colleagues in the branch as all of them welcomed me in to the team as if I'd known them prior to starting my internship, making it very easy for me to settle in and feel comfortable enough to ask any questions or for any assistance where needed.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • During my time in the branch I had a great support system behind me from both my branch manager and all other corporate managers involved. This made me able to achieve the most out of my time, because if I was ever needed any help or guidance with any tasks I was doing, I always had someone to go to if necessary. Also throughout the internship I had daily 1-2-1's with my branch manager where we would speak about my progress, what is coming up for me and answer any questions I had.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had the perfect balance of business during my time with the bank, because they always ensured I had tasks to do or small projects to complete, which always kept me engaged, however made sure I was not set too many tasks at once making it difficult for me to take in all the information I was presented with.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I would say I was given an ideal amount of responsibility during my internship with all the tasks I was set, because I was given roles that carried enough responsibility to know that I was making an impact on the company whilst completing said task, however not too much responsibility was given to me which could have resulted in me making major mistakes and pressuring me too much.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am not currently studying a degree, but with regards to my future professional career aspirations, I believe the skills I have developed and the training I have received will benefit me greatly in future as it has given me a solid foundation of skills that I can now take forward and use when I progress further during my career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere in the branch was always cheerful and up beat, which provided the perfect balance between work and social, allowing each member of the branch to complete all tasks to a high standard whilst being able to have short conversations and jokes during the completion of the tasks, ensuring everyone stays engaged.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My overall internship was organised extremely well, with weekly planners of what I would be facing/undergoing which allowed me to allocate enough time to each task, and prevent any clashes with plans. The organisation also meant I always knew where my progression throughout my time should be and what I should be aspiring to complete each day.
