    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight was a great experience. We were given hour-long presentations every morning about each practice and what type of work they did. We were taught about the role of the trainee and what to expect during a seat. All employees were more than willing to provide insight into the firm and answer any questions.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt really valued during my time at the firm. From the first day, I was given real work and a chance to really understand how the department worked. The open-door policy made it easy to talk with partners and they were very helpful in explaining the bigger picture. We were always thanked for the work we produced.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We were given a lot of guidance throughout the two weeks. Anytime we had a question or needed clarification, my supervisor took the time to sit down and explain through everything. My supervisor regularly checked in on me to make sure I was ok and had enough work to do. The support really made me feel valued and that I was actually contributing.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed will really assist me in my future studies. The experience allowed me to see how academic law was applied in a practical way. The skills I learnt will help me when studying the LPC. I was taught about how the firm provides legal solutions to the client's commercial problems which will assist me in my future studies.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The vacation scheme was really well structured. Each morning started off with a one-hour presentation from each department which was really useful in learning about each of the firm's practices. We were given a good mix of fictional tasks to complete with real-life work so were constantly busy. The social events were also a great way of getting to know people at the firm in a more relaxed environment.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was very positive. Everyone I met was upbeat and energetic. I regularly heard people laughing in the hallways and the firm clearly had a collegiate spirit. Everyone I talked to made the time to sit down and answer any questions I had. Everyone was very chatty and friendly.
