The Role
From the first day you are treated like part of the team, not a new intern. Each intern is given real projects like any other employee, working hand in hand with licensees to create Disney - packaged products! I have very much enjoyed the responsibility and tasks given to me
I feel extremely valued by my collegues, very welcominging, instantly felt part of the team and treated as such
I have been given constant support by the managers and other collegues, with everyone welcoming any questions or queries I may have. I am not watched or micromanaged, I have been given the opportunity to take responsibility of my own work but always have the guidance of the managers if needed
I have been extremely busy on a daily basis, with many meetings and calls to attend. With growing confidence I am given extra responsiblity, increasing workload
I am treated as any other permenant employee of the company, given real time projects and products to work on
My confidence in talking to any audience has grown, as well as my abiity to manage my time effectively. Other skills developed include; passion and knowledge for my subject, written abilities, concepts of professionalism, organisation/time managment, understanding of the programmes that Disney use
The Company
Extremely fun and pleasant, everyone is always happy to chat and help with any problems
Very well organised - I was given a very informative handover document from the previous intern explaining how to use the main programmes - giving me extra tips and advice. The licensees of the previous intern were informed of the change and I was introduced to them and the staff in the office
The food PD manager gave me one - one training on the main programmes I would be using, booking out time in her diary to go over all my questions and queries
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very appealing - I would love to sercure a roll at the Disney company upon my graduation if there became one available
The Culture
Excellent social scene - best out of any company I have heard of. There are 250+ interns at the Walt Disney Company so socilaising comes naturally. On my floor alone there are 10 interns, which I have become really good friends with
The cost is expensive, this is expected though as it is in a prime London location
Good nightlife, lots of places to go to, short tube ride away from central London where clubs and bars are limitless
Yes, many oportunities. Due to the location there is an activity to suit everyone
