    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the firm. I was only there for a week and yet I felt I managed to gain a good insight across all areas. It was organised well with ample opportunity to interact with members from all levels. People were friendly and the work interesting, just a great week.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Recognising that my role was limited to someone who was only there for a week, I felt that I was given a fair amount of work. It was clear the firm did not want vac schemers to be idle. The only downside was that my supervisor and immediate team were mostly away for the week.

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I was given as much support as I asked for. Whenever I did not understand a task I could easily approach someone asking for information. I never felt that I was abandoned and left to my own devices.

    3/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt how to engage professionally with colleagues whether that be through casual interaction or via emails. Equally important was learning how to present information to a good professional standard as expected. Perhaps most importantly I learnt that I wanted to be a lawyer which will give me extra motivation going forward.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The week was planned. I was given a timetable which clearly detailed the different activities for each day. No work was organised for me too specifically do. However, this wasn't issue as colleagues were around offering the occasional task to be getting on with. I never felt like the was poorly organised. A lot of tasks across multiple parts of the firm were effectively coordinated.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was genuine. I never felt like people were forced into being 'nice'. The social was good fun because the people were easy going and actually interested in what I had to say. Whenever I felt uncertain I could always ask someone if they could help. I didn't feel like people were waiting for me to slip up.

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I never felt that I was left alone with a task with plenty helpful colleagues to give advice. However the picture remains unclear as only a week.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Completely changed my understanding. How much responsibility a trainee gets and how much a trainee learns is never clear from the outside looking in but now that picture is much clearer.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Great insight. A variety of activities, work and socials left me with the impression that this was a firm with a good culture with interesting and caring people.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Absolutely, it has cemented my decision to become lawyer as I enjoyed my time and could see myself in the role of a trainee.

    5/5

  • Very insightful, I managed to gain an insight into many areas of the firm.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes it seemed like employees had an active social life and engaged in a plethora of activities outside of work.
