    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I was given a range of tasks to do which kept my interest throughout. Everyone at the firm was friendly and welcoming. There were times when I didn't really have anything to do, but I understand that is often the nature of 1-week placements.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was made to feel welcome but there is only so much importance a firm can place on a vacation scheme student.

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I was given work on which I was supervised and generally given clear instructions, guidance, and constructive feedback.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not so much the skills I have developed, but the insight into the firm and the area in which I worked have been very valuable.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • We had a clear timetable which incorporated a number of activities and a range of events.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was friendly and supportive, and I always felt like I could approach people to ask questions or for assistance.

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given a range of tasks but there is only so much a firm can invest in you in the space of a week.

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I was given work by a number of people including trainees (of which I would be one if I joined the firm) which helped me see what working at the firm would be like.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I spoke to a number of people about the culture of the firm which helped give me a good understanding, as well as being involved in a social event with current trainees.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very valuable, I got to see the type of work undertaken by trainees and solicitors in my department and got to see the type of workload involved.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were enjoyable and allowed us to speak both formally and informally with current employees.
