The Role
I really enjoyed my time with CLV, every day brought a different challenge and something new. I only have to look back at the person I was at the start of my placement to see just how much I've grown. I've developed the skills and confidence to transfer my university knowledge into a professional working environment. I would encourage anybody thinking of applying to CLV do so, it's been an experience I'll never forget!
This was my first placement since joining university, so I was understandably nervous, but from day one the team at CLV really made me feel welcome and its an experience I'll never forget.
My intern manager took a real interest in my project and was always happy to lend her a hand, whether that was through her expertise or simply her professional opinion.
The nature of my project was self-led, which meant as long as I hit my deadlines I was free to dictate my own working pace. Me and my intern managers held weekly meetings to discuss how I was doing and the progress I was making, both inside the project and on a personal level aswell. I couldn't recommend them highly enough!
From day one I was given all the responsibilities of a regular employee, which really benefited me from a development perspective. It encouraged me to learn, approach and interact with the colleagues around me which really helped me to settle into the office.
My time with CLV was a brilliant opportunity to expand my theoretical knowledge, whilst building invaluable professional skills for the future along the way.
The Company
I found the CLV office both a cheery and welcoming place to be, other employees took interest in my project and I really felt as though I was making a difference.
I found the internship very well set up, I had all the resources I needed from day one. In particular I found the weekly 'check-in' sessions with my intern manager incredibly beneficial to both my personal an professional development.
CLV invested a great deal of both time and responsibility in me, and a pre-induction workshop was set up for all of the interns to attend. The event was opportunity to discuss and develop key critical skills that I often found myself using during my time with on the internship.
Great, I've been given some great LinkedIn recommendations and built some invaluable links for the future. I left the company in really high spirits and I hope I find my way back to CLV.
