The Role
It is a fast paced environment which requires a lot of dedication and focus, and very well developed self management skills.
As you develop your own ideas and work harder to voice them, they will be heard as your own reputation in the company grows.
The team directly around me were an incredible help and inspiration throughout the year, and helped me through some of the hardest times in the internship.
This was bordering on too busy, as digital is growing at an amazing rate, there are sometimes not enough staff to cover the work load. Though, thanks to digital being low overhead, and relatively low maintenance once launched in time it does level out.
Given a fair amount of responsibility and was given the task of managing an account directly.
Learnt some very valuable skills, from basic daily job tasks. But more how to manage myself, and more importantly those around me.
The Company
Working in the entertainment industry there are lots of fun things happening. Particular highlights were xmas party and company sports day.
A lot of the management was left to myself, so I was left to be the key driving force in getting out if it what I put it.
There was a very well organised intern training schedule throughout the year that helped with jobs directly in the office. Although it could have begun sooner.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
There are vast opportunities within the company to develop and progress your career without ever moving office!
The Culture
It was ok, there was always the opportunity for a drink or two after work, however, there were certain groups that developed based mainly on where people lived. These then tended to leave out other interns that perhaps work longer hours or live further away.
Being in London it is never cheap, although there are plenty of options to live out of the city and commute, to save money. Or live closer and have a shorter commute. It's finding the right area, and being careful with cash. Generally London placements pay better as a result.
Soho, Leicester Square, West End, Film Premiers what else needs saying?
WB has an active employee participation scheme, with volunteer days, office lunches, etc.
