    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement was not what I thought it would be. It was also in a sector that I have no interest in. If I was more interested in financial services I may have enjoyed it more.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everybody at the company is warm and friendly who do their best to make ou feel like a part of the team

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My managers were very supportive but due t it being summer and a release was due they were kept very busy. The few times i did see them were aways excellent.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • During the sart of the palcement I had very little work to do, but by the end I had a good balance. There was always something to do but I never felt rushed for time.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The work I was doing was not a set piece of work, intsead I played small parts in a wide variety of projects. I was responsible for one large piece of work but it was not integral to the company..

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My placement had very little o do with my degree and the technologies i did use were out of date. It was however interesting to work in an area completely new to me as it was a ompletely new experience.

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was generaly quite casual. There is a dress or the day policy.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall placement was quite well organised.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company offers a lot of personal development options, but the online courses are somewhat tedious and unengaging.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The company would be good to work for.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Interns are put up in an apartment building for the summer for free by the company. This allows great socialising within the large group of interns.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost real depends. Since accomadation is paid for, it leaves more money to use. the internship overlaps with the Fringe festival in Edniburgh so there is always a good free show to go to if you want to.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Edinburgh has a ton of clubs that are always open. Plenty of bars and shows as well.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are cubs tat you can join if you'd like.

    3/5
