    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Had a fantastic time from start to finish and there was nothing about the job that wasn't enjoyable.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was extremely welcoming and made the effort to make the interns feel like part of the team. There were several social occasions.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Managers were extremely helpful in all aspects of the placement, from teaching the use of computer systems to helping polish presentations.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was variety, some days busier than others, and generally it got busier as the internship progressed, towards the final presentation.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The project completed would have been completed by a P&G employee otherwise, so in this sense you had the responsibility for analysis of that particular area of the business. My manager was great at teaching me the techniques though, so I wasn't just given responsibility without training.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Loads of transferable skills from working at P&G - the training is widely acknowledged as industry leading, for example in presentations, summarising complex data sets, statistical and analytical techniques.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A very relaxed workplace, though the Harrogate office is far smaller than London or Newcastle.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The location/details of the internship were only confirmed shortly before beginning, but once at the office everything was well run. The intern college in the 1st week was very well organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Plenty of training opportunities and chances to develop skills, as well as trips to experience other areas of the business.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • P&G provided accomodation for the interns so we were all together in Leeds, which is perfect for young people!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Leeds can be pretty cheap or pretty expensive; depends on your taste. Accomodation was provided and subsidised by P&G.

    3/5

  • Plenty going on in Leeds.

    5/5
