Role Description

Procurement / Supply chain based role in which I was responsible for interaction and for the creation of many excel based reports.

1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

The placement has been very enjoyable and I will be sad to leave. The opportunity and experiences that I have been given here are second to none.

2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

I felt as much a member of the team as the permanent employees. My role is the heartbeat of the team and all members relied on me to complete important task for them. Everybody was friendly and was happy to offer their help and experience to me where they could.

3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

All of my managers were very supportive and were happy to help when I was unsure about something. I also had weekly 1 to 1s with my line manager where we would speak about my deadlines and any problems I may have.

4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

There was never a time when I did not have something I could be doing. Although I had set jobs and documents that needed to be completed on a weekly basis, there was a lot of Ad - Hoc work that had to be done also.

5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

I was trusted with a lot of important jobs such as the budget and release schedules. I was also given the opportunity to manage and release my own product.

6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

I think the skills I have learnt will be very valuable to me in the future. The training was very informative and hands on, allowing me to develop in a number of ways.

The Organisation

7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

Everyone was extremely friendly and close. Nights out and employee evnts were regular organised, which allowed you to mix with others from departments you may not work with.

8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

Excellent, I felt a valued member of the team at all times and there were a number of training initiatives and events in place to welcome the interns when we started.

9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

We were given six different mandatory half day training sessions, focusing on a number of personal and work related skills. We also had the opportunity to undertake a day long IT course, to enhance our Microsoft Office Skills.

11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

Although there are no direct graduate schemes at Warner, a number of previous interns have returned in my time here.

Social

12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

Due to there being around 45 interns, we were very social. We are all very close and went for drinks during the week and organised events at the weekend.

13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

Living in London is obviously more expensive than most places, so it is harder to manage your money. But I don't think this affected what I wanted to do.

14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

Living in London means there are endless different clubs and bars you can visit. And big events are always on.

15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

There are a few different sports teams, and there are many different events you can be a part of.
