  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My opinion was valued whilst working with ASOS. Managers would ask for my opinion on certain work inquiries, and we all worked as a team. I was also trusted to get on with the job, but I did not feel uncomfortable asking for help if I needed it.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • In ASOS there is a short handover period to take over the job, nevertheless the team i worked with were very supportive if I ever struggled. Me and my manager would meet every three months to discuss how I was doing, she would pick up on area's that needed improving, and then we would discuss on how to get there. A lot of support and guidance was given.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was very busy but fun. There is always a lot of people rushing around, and meetings happening everywhere. I worked within buying, so there are clothes everywhere, but this is useful to get inspiration from.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Yes, it was organised. Once you were into the placement, you did not feel like an intern. But at the end of the placement, the HR team got in touch to wish us luck with University.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Yes, it was organised. ASOS offered a lot of training for interns, but also extra training if needed. These were really organised and helped me develop certain skills. I don't know how much the company invested, but it seem like quite a lot, as the training was in depth.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Its a really fast paced company to work for, but is really fun. Within buying the promotion process seen a bit long winded, and that would be my only issue. On the other hand the company offers a good salary and has a lot of perks, and this makes me interested to go back.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The company pushed us together through training. ASOS was a really social company to work for. There will always be something happening every week, either within your team or with the company. Based in Camden, there was always something going on. All the BAA's would go to monthly meetings, and again this was a way to meet people in the same position as yourself.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost to live in London for me was around £800-900 a month, including rent, food, travel and bills. Socializing also cost a fair bit, however the wage paid by ASOS was enough to cover this, but it was difficult to save money.
