The Role
The project I have been assigned on was not in my field of interest. At the interview I was promised to get a project where I can utilize my strengths at the best.
The atmosphere was very friendly and open. You had a chance to talk to anyone if you had the time.
My manager was not experienced with interns therefore she did not know everything how internships work. It was a bad match because I also was not experienced working in a big company, so a lot more effective coaching and managing could have been useful.
I was running out of time everyday doing extra hours to finish my experiments (avg 45-50 hours/week). I have told my manager about that but in order to achieve my objectives nothing could have been done.
I was given a big project, It was my responsibility that it goes as planned. I like that.
Since my project was not really in my field none technical skills. But I have developed a lot on my soft skills because I had to work with a lot of people.
The Company
I cannot really answer that question, because I was not in the office most of the time. I would call it normal, friendly but nothing special.
The internship was very organized, HR/recruitment has done a fantastic job with the placement! The only thing I could suggest is to match the strengths better to the internship projects.
P&G invested a lot into their interns. We had a lot of on-boarding trainings and also social events, it was amazing. 2-day-long intern college, sport day, go-karting... just a few of lots!

At the end they score the interns and only the the tops gets hire recommendation, but it is done locally by the department, not comparing interns.
The Culture
Yes, interns met at the local pub every Friday and also at lunch during week.
Cost of living was cheaper compared to London, but there was not really anything to do in Egham besides pubs.
There is no night-club, disco in that town.
Yes, surprisingly! Company offered a lot of entertainment offers (cinema, swimming, clay shooting, etc.)
