The Role
It was a great opportunity to try a job in chemical industry and learn new skills.
I felt valued by both direct collaborators and the management (even more distant/high)
My supervisor provided day to day feedback on my progress and work.
The amount of work was demanding but possible to complete within working hours.
I fully owned my project and it only depended on me what I developed and shared. My supervisor provided useful guidance on the way.
Definitely clear objective-driven work will be useful in the future. As well as many opportunities to produce report and deliver presentations.
The Company
Some people were very quiet (as expected in a hard working environment) but generally friendly. Everyone was very kind and helpful.
It was very well organised on site.
My supervisor was a perfect coach for personal training and I could ask them to deal with any of my problems.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare/Dental
I feel that I have delivered work that would benefit the company and demonstrated necessary skills for employment.
The Culture
We had a lot of networking events for the interns and within the department.
North of England is generally a cheap place so the standard of living could be much higher than in London.
Have you never heard about a Geordie night out?
Many Sports and Social Clubs available, as well as ad hoc organised activities.
