The Role
I was given a great deal of invaluable experience and all my colleagues were very approachable whenever I was unsure about anything.
We were treated as permanent employees within the team.
Line manager ensured I always had plenty of work to get on with. He went through tasks in detail to make sure i knew exactly what I was meant to be doing.
There were very few occasions when I wasn't trying to make a deadline to complete a design. It never became too much to deal with though.
I was delagated my own road design projects to complete and handover for construction
I gained a lot of invaluable experience. The placement gave me an insight into the many stages of the design process.
The Company
Most people were very friendly and approachable
It was clear that much thought and planning had been put in when I was delagated the various tasks.
This was my second summer placement with the company and I really appreciate the oppertunity that they have given me.
Company Parties/Events
I would happily return next year if givin then option
The Culture
Most of the students knew each other from the previous years placement however those who started this year got on well with us all. We arranged a couple of nights out over the course of the placement.
Glasgow is probably on a par with other large cities like Edinburgh or Manchester
Average
Regularly played five a side football with colleagues
