    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I greatly enjoyed being back working in the office as I have gained many friends here over the course of my 4 placements.

  • I was fully envolved as if I were a full time employee.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Working in a small department within the office meant I was constantly working closely with my supervisor. She was always there to offer advice and assist with any questions I had.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The department that I worked in depended on input from external parties to generate work. There were times when there was plenty on and others when I had to bide my time to wait for something else to come in.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was trusted to regularly communicate with the client and developers and put across my own take on matters.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have most certainly improved my communication and research skills through the type of work with which I had involvement.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office is a friendly environment and I have made many friends since being here. Everyone is welcoming.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Coming back for my 4th year at the company, I was placed in a new department once again. This has allowed me to develop new skills and diversify my experience.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was accepted onto the companies sponsorship scheme wherein I am assisted with my university fees in exchange for agreeing to work for 2 year post graduation. I am hugely greatful for this fantastic oppertunity.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Permitting I meet the terms of the sponsorship agreement, I believe I have a good chance of gaining future employment within the company.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I organised weekly five-a-sides with my colleagues to improve the social element. We also arranged a students leaving night to thank everyone for their help over the summer with a few drinks.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home therefore I did not have to worry about living costs.

  • Glasgow is a lively and interesting city with something for everyone.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Five-a-side football was organised weekly. There were also other fund raising activities which we were invited along to.
