The Role
I have had a fantastic time with Amey over the last few months.
Everybody has been really nice and helpful to me for the duration of my placement. I have really been made to feel like I am part of the team.
If I have had any problems there has always been help close to hand. I have never felt like I am causing anybody any trouble when asking for help which is really good and made me feel really comfortable when I approached people.
I have always had work to do but all tasks were given in small manageable portions.
I believe the responsibilities I have been given were reasonable for the role I was doing.
I believe the experiences I have gained with Amey over the summer will be invaluable in developing my career. I have been able to put my knowledge from university into practice whilst picking up lots of extra information. It has been really useful to me to see how real life civil engineering projects are carried out. I have now gained a much better understanding of the types of projects that I may be part of when I graduate.
The Company
There is a really good working environment within the office. There is a perfect balance of work and laughs.
The placement was well organised and there was always something for me to do.
Amey invested a lot of time in my development.
I would love to come back and work for Amey. Hopefully I will be able to come back in the very near future.
The Culture
There was a great social scene in the office and everybody got on well in and out of work.
Average prices.
Edinburgh is a great night out.
