The Role
Very friendly members of staff, good relaxed working environment and challenging work
Some members of staff made an effort to get to know me
My supervisor went out of her way to help me whenever I needed help and was very easy to talk to about anything
Never bored, plenty of work to do. Sometimes too busy but not often enough to be a serious problem (That's life)
I was trusted with customer data and making changes to customer's systems just like the permanent members of staff.
I feel that a lot of the knowledge gained would not be useful in my degree or after university (unless I was to return to work there after university). However most of it is transferrable as I improved on both hard technical skills and soft skills.
The Company
Plenty of laughs in the office, which helped to keep the mood light.
Very well organised, it was planned out from the start and reviewed monthly to refocus if needed. Very impressive
I felt that the company invested enough into me for me to do my Job but I would have liked to receive a bit more training that was unavailable to me near the end
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I have been offered and accepted a Job with Lighthouse Systems
The Culture
Many of the fellow placement students had similar interests to me so it was very fun
Did not live or socialise in the area that I worked in so cannot really comment, but I hear that accommodation is cheap from some of the others
I only have very limited experience of the night life but it was quite good. A few clubs in the area
Some of the guys play football weekly and we also organised badminton for a while
