Overview
on a day-to-day basis you attend your stand up meeting first thing in the morning. This meeting consists of you updating the rest of your team mates on the progress of your Task/Stories/Tickets. For the remainder of the day you usually just try to progress with your assigned Tasks.
Skills
I gained a lot of technical knowledge during my time at placement because I was always curious and asking questions. I also developed my soft skills. The training & support is extensive so there is opporunity to learn.
Responsibilities
You're given the responsibility of a regular employee.
Support & Guidance
During my placement the Government announced that they'd recommend Employees to WFH if they had the abilitity to do so. Lighthouse suggested Placement students still come in as they will need support however maybe one senior came into the office consistently so it felt kind of redundant. Support wise most teams are great although in my third rotatation I was placed in a team of 2. Support wasn't the greatest.
Culture
Company culture and atmosphere is great. Everyone is kind and you can have a laugh with everyone.
Your Impressions
It was a good year working with some great colleagues. I learnt a lot and enjoyed a great experience of living out.
No
Brush up on your SQL and C# skills. I Believe Lighthouse are in a niche sector and if you like it you will enjoy the work, so give it some thought & ask for some insight at interviews.
