  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I've really enjoyed the internship much more than I expected.

  • People in Standard Life have been very nice and supportive, we go out a lot after work.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager has taken really good care of me, constantly chekcing if the amount of work I've given was about right and make sure I understand what I am doing and what outcome to be expected.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There has been a few busy days where requires staying a bit late, but normally it's just 9-5.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was treated as everyone else in the team, therefore I was given real responsibilities which made a real contribution.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I found working and studying are really different things, and excel is really useful tool to master.

  • People have been really friendly around here.

  • I feel I've been taken care of all the time.

  • I didn't really get any formal training, but I did learn a lot from everyone in the team.

  • Lots of people tend to stay in Standard Life for a really long time.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Definitely, a lot of events have been organized by the actuarial student societies.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I wouldn't say it's cheap, but compared to London, it definitely will be and it is a very nice place to live.

  • Great.

  • Lots of societies in the company.
