    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had a really enjoyable year both in terms of work and living arrangements.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were extremely welcoming from day one. The interns are treated as a valued member of the team and are integrated well within the company.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given support by all members of the team (including my manager) throughout the year. As we sit close together it is easy to ask questions whenever anything comes up. We had weekly catch ups and all members of the team were available to discuss issues in more detail when required.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days are busier than others - this tends to be around a film release when a lot of artwork is coming through - but as the work is enjoyable, this was not a problem. Other days are quieter but there is plenty to do and I was never left bored without work.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the perfect amount of responsibility and was trusted to handle projects from very early on in the process. Towards the end of the year, I was encouraged to take up more responsibility and get involved with different departments in order to develop my skills.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was surprised at how much I learnt during the internship scheme and feel that it has prepared me extremely well for the future. I was able to interview key individuals in the business for my dissertation preparation which was both enlightening and useful. It has also given me a clearer idea of what I would like to focus my studies on when I return to Uni.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I absolutely loved the atmosphere in the office. There was always an upbeat and fun mood but it was never a distraction from work. Dress code was relatively casual in the marketing team which added to this relaxed yet professional atmosphere.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was very well organised with many training sessions including Time Management, Public Speaking, MBTI Tests and many more. The programme has been running for several years which means there is a proper job role in place, rather than ad-hoc projects.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were many training sessions as the Learning & Development team take the internship programme very seriously. They were supportive, helpful and always made the sessions fun and engaging.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Travel loan

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Many of the jobs that come up are filled by interns so the prospects are good. If interns are not directly employed by the company then there are plenty of opportunities to work for the organisation's agencies which work as an extension of the team.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • One of the highlights of the year was sharing the experience with around 40 other interns. I lived with 3 other girls on the internship and made some really good friends.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It is very expensive but I didn't really struggle for money as we get paid a fair amount. There are always cheaper options if you look properly.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife is amazing - living in central London means there are hundreds of places to go.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many volunteering and sports activities available.
