The Role
I enjoyed my placement however it was difficult adapting at first to the change of lifestyle from university, however the opportunities that I had available to me were worth it.
My team was quite small but this made it easier to settle in and get know everyone a bit more personally. Were like a small family now!
Good amount of guidance but also allow you to use your iniative and develop your own way of doing things.
Fairly busy, however some of the tasks were very repeatitive and tedious.
A large amount of responsibility was given to me as my team also travelled quite a bit, so there would be times where I would have to sort problems out myself.
I think the skills I have developed have been more useful for future employment rather than my degree.
The Company
It was nice, not as fun and active as other floors, but the people made up for it.
Really well set up, they really value interns and want to help with development in your job role and prepare you for future employment.
I recieved a PHP training course which was paid for by the company which took place in London, was a good experience and I got a qualification out of it too.
Company Parties/Events
Travel loan
Very appealing, they value young people and their skills.
The Culture
Yeah everyone naturally gravitated in to their own cliques, but overall everyone was really friendly.
London is quite expensive to eat and live but it is worth it because at the end of the day you are in the capital city and you're spoilt for choice!
The nightlife was good and there were always lots of people to go out with and cool clubs to go to and a lot of them did student nights/events etc.
The interns were really active and we planned stuff to do outside of work.
