  • Thoroughly enjoyed my placement! Great Place to work.

  • Being an American company, most people neglected interns. But, you have to prove what you're capable of in order to be valued.

  • On my particular role, it's expected that you on your own with minimal support.

  • Quite a busy placement, 10 months will go by before you know it.

  • Lots of responsibility up for grabs once you gain trust from people you are working with.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt alot of Product Management, Business Management, Sourcing, Marketing, Supply Chain etc More importantly influencing people I have no directly authority over.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Depends on which team you're in. I was in a rather loud friendly office, some of the other offices are quite.

  • Pretty well organised company

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • GE invests alot in training courses and courses are available to everyone. But, you have to take the initiative to book courses and get it approved.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Pretty good, loads of grad schemes in various divisions. You have to re-apply as a graduate on completion of the internship.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had 10 interns here, we went out for meals, bowling, golf etc. It was reasonably sociable.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Hampshire/Surrey's quite an expensive place compared to the North.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife in Guildford/Reading - Both are 20 miles away!

  • Loads of stuff going on in terms of sports around the area.
